In the Prime Minister's Cabinet Reshuffle, Kenneth Clarke, who was Minister without Portfolio, retired to the back benches. He said "After a long innings in Government I am happy with the decision but remain a life-long addict of politics. I will continue to serve Rushcliffe into the next Parliament."
