Matt Barney and Reg Adair for Leake and Ruddington Division

Matt Barney has been selected to take over from the retiring Andy Brown. He is 44 years old and has spent the majority of his life living in the area. He was a pupil of both Sutton Bonington Primary School and Harry Carlton Comprehensive in East Leake. His wife is also a Nottingham girl. She is a Psychotherapist working for a local organisation. Their 4 children have been served well by attending Sutton Bonington Primary and East Leake Academy.”
 
Matt’s professional life has focused on project management and business development. He has extensive experience working in local government and national government programme delivery. In recent years, he was employed as business development manager for a ground breaking climate mitigation business that is based in East Leake and he project managed the delivery of their new life science facilities. He is currently employed as business development manager for another pioneering carbon mitigation business based in Wysall that is developing a number of zero emission fuel technologies including hydrogen fuel cell.
 
Matt was a founding member of the Loughborough soup run that has gone on to become the Exaireo Trust, a charity that provides housing and rehabilitation for vulnerable people. He and his wife Carolyn ran a youth camp in South Wales in their early years of marriage. In his early twenties Matt was the youngest volunteer driver of the Soar Valley Bus. He recently spearheaded the delivery of the new primary school site for East Leake, working with local Parish, Borough and County Council members/officers and the extremely generous land owners who have donated the land. Matt pledges to serve every resident of Leake and Ruddington division if elected, and fight for the very best for local residents.

Reg Adair has been the County Cllr since 2005, and is also the Deputy Leader of Nottinghamshire County Council. Reg has been a champion of Rushcliffe County Park, and pushing for more investment in the area.
