Neil Clarke MBE for Bingham West Division

I am a company director, having been associated with the construction industry for most of my working life.
I first became a Councillor over 30 years ago, so I have plenty of experience to fall back on, but I have been honoured to represent the Bingham West Division for the last 4 years and I really hope to have the pleasure of being re-elected and continue to work on behalf of residents in Bingham and the neighbouring villages in the Division. The Division includes the western part of Bingham as well as a small part of Upper Saxondale, the villages of Newton, Cropwell Butler, Tythby, Cropwell Bishop, Langar and Colston Bassett.

Previous longstanding experience as a Borough Council, a former Leader of Rushcliffe Borough Council, and various national roles within Local Government has allowed me to gain increased knowledge to helping working for local communities.

The work is varied and really interesting in my endeavour to help people, whether it be individual problems associated with their own households or immediate area, or whether it be wider challenges involving services or infrastructure facilities on a larger scale.

Juggling the challenges of reducing finances within the Council becomes ever more challenging. I have been able to address problems such as flooding, road safety, speeding, the ubiquitous potholes, car parking, road layouts, cycle tracks, environmental issues, libraries, schools and leisure facilities.
Using my Elected Members’ divisional fund, I have helped a wide range of good causes from assisting youth organisations and equipment to speed signs and leisure equipment.

There is much work still to do and I wish to keep solving these challenges such as providing new schools and road improvements for many years to come.
