Ruth Edwards will be the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Rushcliffe for the next General Election.
Selected by members of Rushcliffe Conservative Association at a meeting on Wednesday (October 16), Ruth works as a cyber security expert, advising governments and global businesses about how to stay secure online.
On being selected she said “I am delighted to be the Conservative candidate for Rushcliffe at the next General Election. People often say they want MPs with real-world experience, which is exactly what I have with my career in business and the tech sector.
“I can’t wait to start knocking on doors and speaking to as many people as possible about their priorities for our area. My campaign to become the next Member of Parliament for Rushcliffe will focus on what matters most to people - like recruiting more new police officers, investing more in our NHS and helping with the cost of living."
Neil Clarke, chairman of Rushcliffe Conservative Association said “ With Ruth Edwards being selected, we have a brilliant new candidate, raring to go, to fight the next General Election as our Conservative candidate. She brings great energy and enthusiasm, business experience, and a wealth of new ideas to suit both the rural and urban areas of Rushcliffe. I am really looking forward to working with her so that she can represent the interests of all the residents of Rushcliffe in Parliament.”
