West Bridgford resident Dr Darius Furmonavicius has been selected as the perspective Conservative Candidate for the West Bridgford North division in the Nottinghamshire County Council election in May next year.
 
Darius and his family have lived near the Trent Bridge Cricket Ground for more than 25 years and he knows West Bridgford really well. He was a candidate for the Abbey Ward during the Rushcliffe Borough Council election last year. Darius said “I’m delighted to have been selected to stand for the West Bridgford North division. I enjoy living in West Bridgford. It is the happiest place to live. It is such a vibrant community with great facilities, and I especially like the parks and green spaces. However, we must not be complacent about the threats to our high streets, and that’s why I’m supporting plans to make West Bridgford town centre even better.”
 
Darius is currently campaigning for lower Council tax, more electric vehicle charging points and LED lighting in West Bridgford (including the Lady Bay area), as well as more funding for West Bridgford parks.
